The 2024 Ford Bronco Sport

2024 Ford Bronco Sport

Manufactured in Wayne, Michigan, the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport is a compact SUV resting on the same C2 platform as the Ford Escape. However, it sets itself apart from its city cousin with a distinctive grille, a vintage squared-off look, higher ground clearance and standard all-wheel drive, reminding us that the Bronco Sport is decidedly built for adventure. This is especially true of the Black Diamond Package, which includes skid plates underneath the floorboard, among other special features.

It appears that no major redesign is in the works for 2024. The ample choice of versions (Base, Big Bend, Heritage, Outer Banks, Badlands and Heritage Limited) will very likely remain. However, certain versions may offer some new exterior design elements, although any noteworthy changes to the body will most likely have to wait until 2025 to materialize. Ford will no doubt confirm this in due course.

Could there be a 2024 Ford Bronco Sport PHEV?

To keep up with the times, the 2024 Ford Bronco may be available in a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version, as is the case of the Escape and the Maverick. This addition shouldn’t require much in the way of mechanical design, despite the fact that these models don’t have all-wheel drive. In any event, this powertrain (with total power surpassing 200 hp) would join the two current ones, the 1.5 L inline-three EcoBoost (181 hp/190 lbf·ft) and the 2.0 L inline-four EcoBoost (250 hp/277 lbf·ft). Both of these engines come with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

It’s also very probable that the excellent variety of drive modes will still be present on the 2024 Bronco Sport. Ford’s GOAT (Go Over Any Terrain) system includes five different drive modes: Sand, Slippery, Sport, Eco and Normal.

Highly customizable

In the premium Heritage Limited Edition, the 2024 Bronco Sport should be as hot as ever. Standard elements notably include 17-inch Oxford white aluminum rims, an Oxford white grille with the word “Bronco” appearing in bold red lettering, a “Bronco Heritage” emblem on the side and tinted windows in the second row and liftgate. Meanwhile, nearly all of the safety features and off-road equipment currently on the market should be there, as well.
