The 2022 Ford Edge, an SUV with a bite

The new 2022 Ford Edge will be here at our dealership later this year, much to the delight of avid fans of this edgy SUV. Both comfortable and modern, it offers a dynamic driving experience, thanks to its excellent performance and handling. The upcoming version of the model will certainly feature some major updates, giving it an even more distinctive look.

Based on what we know up to now, the 2022 Ford Edge is about to be equipped with the new CD6 platform, the same one that underpins the Explorer. However, the Edge’s platform will need to undergo a few minor modifications because of the difference in size between the two vehicles, among other reasons.

The CD6 platform is built on a propulsion system and has been designed to keep the center of gravity as low as possible. This will make the new Ford Edge even more comfortable and will significantly improve its maneuverability.

The biggest modifications, however, will be in the design of the 2022 Edge, both on the inside and the outside. In front, the shape of the headlights will be slightly different, while the grille will be wider and more aggressive. The lines of the body will be more defined, giving the vehicle a look that’s both futuristic and timeless.

On the inside, you can expect numerous improvements in the appearance and comfort of the 2022 Edge. Notably, you’ll see fewer plastic components, as counterparts made of materials that are more durable have replaced them. The result is an elegant passenger compartment with a redesigned dashboard, which will most likely feature a touchscreen. Connect your smartphone and SYNC® 4 infotainment system and you can say goodbye to boring trips once and for all!

The next-generation 2022 Ford Edge might even come with new options in powertrains. Currently, the model offers two engines: a 250-horsepower 4-cylinder turbo and an available V6 that can produce 335 horsepower. If the rumors are true, it may be able to deliver up to 400 horsepower.
