The 2023 Ford Explorer EV: a versatile SUV with three-row seating

2023 Ford Explorer EV

It won’t be until toward the end of 2023 that we’ll finally discover the all-new 2024 Ford Explorer EV. This SUV with three rows of seats will have no problem carving out a choice spot for itself in the hearts of Quebec’s residents, as it will respond to several criteria: an electric vehicle, a spacious sport utility vehicle and a vehicle that can comfortably seat seven. Considering that the Explorer has been available in a hybrid version since 2020, the Ford Explorer EV that will be unveiled in 2023 will represent a logical next step in Ford’s mission to electrify its vehicles. In fact, Ford plans to electrify 40 percent of its fleet between now and 2030. For now, the Mach-E SUV, the F-150 Lightning pickup and the E-Transit van figure among them. Rumors lead us to believe that the Ford Ranger and the Ford Bronco will be the next to go green, but nothing has yet been confirmed.

Users will be sure to appreciate the fact that the 2023 Ford Explorer EV will be constructed on the new Global Electrified 2 (GE2) platform, which will also be used for the next-generation Mach-E. This platform will have the ability to accommodate one or more electric motors in addition to a series of batteries that Ford never stops perfecting.

The well-designed cabin of the 2023 Ford Explorer EV

The cabin of the 2023 Explorer EV will probably resemble that of the gasoline model, with capacity for up to 7 occupants, as well as 2,483 liters of cargo volume behind the front row seats. The optional foot-activated hands-free liftgate makes loading and unloading easy, especially since it’s equipped with the Cargo Management System, making it possible to compartmentalize everything optimally. For 2023, we hope once again to see the entrance to the second row seats facilitated by the E-Z Entry system, activated by a simple lever in order to load up the whole family in a snap.

The Ford Explorer EV, available in 2023, will surely have everything going for it. Pinard Ford can hardly wait to learn all the details regarding everything it holds in store. In the meantime, you can get a 2021 Ford Explorer or one of the numerous SUVs in inventory at the dealership, including the EcoSport, the Escape, the Expedition and the Mach-E electric SUV.
